Our Philosophy
A Christian Foundation
Viewing All Things in the Light of God’s Truth
We guide our students to see Christ as Lord over every area of study. As they explore the natural world in science, discover creativity in art, reflect on the human experience through great books, or practice logical thinking in mathematics, they learn that all truth comes from God and belongs to him—enabling them to understand that their studies and their faith are meant to grow together, moving them from knowledge to wisdom.
Scripture, prayer, and worship are woven into the daily rhythms of our school life. These practices nurture both heart and mind, shaping our community into one that seeks Christ together.
At King’s Classical School, our academic growth should parallel our spiritual growth, and our learning should lead to worship.
Acts 17:28
“for in him we live and move and have our being…”
The Classical Approach
Cultivating Wonder, Clarity, and Wisdom through the Liberal Arts
The rich tradition of classical education, wedded to Christian truth, forms the foundation of our pedagogy. This time-tested approach is designed to impart information that can then be cultivated into habits of thought and action: wisdom and virtue. By engaging with the disciplines that have shaped centuries of western thought, students are welcomed into the “great conversation” that stretches across cultures and generations.
Classical, Christian education begins by teaching students to use the tools of learning, and then laying a strong foundation in the liberal arts. At King’s Classical School, we want our students to fully embrace their humanity. In doing so, they will become better able to worship their creator. Students’ minds are formed through the verbal arts of grammar, logic, and rhetoric—the Trivium—which train them to think, speak, and write with clarity. They are also immersed in the mathematical arts of arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy—the Quadrivium—which cultivate precision, an appreciation for the natural order, and a deep sense of wonder.
This balanced structure develops habits of disciplined work, clear thinking, reverence, effective communication and joy!
Students not only learn to analyze and express ideas but also to delight in the beauty of truth as it is revealed in language, numbers, and in God’s created world.
Through their studies in Bible, history, literature, philosophy, mathematics, and the sciences, students begin to see how knowledge is interconnected rather than fragmented. They learn to recognize enduring patterns of truth across disciplines and to understand that all wisdom finds its source and fulfillment in God.
As Augustine stated, students’ rightly-ordered affections, the ordo amoris, will do more than equip them for academic and future success. They will be taught to appreciate and grow to love what is good, true, and beautiful.
Whole-Person Formation
Shaping Students who…
Think Deeply, Live Faithfully, and Serve Joyfully
We encourage them to ask big questions, wrestle with timeless ideas, and even hold differing perspectives with humility. By learning to embrace the challenge of hard conversations, they become thoughtful, compassionate people who can engage the world with grace.
Our goal is that every King’s Classical School student will be well-prepared academically and spiritually mature: able to live faithfully in God’s world and to serve others with joy.
